University of Applied Science and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) / Academy of Music, Jazz
In collaboration with Langnau Jazz Nights the JAZZCAMPUS (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Academy of Music, Jazz) advertises a musical competition for jazz talents.
For the first time the Jazzcampus offers a professional one-day band recording session in the ultra-modern Jazzcampus studio. Included are mixing and mastering of the recorded music (approx. 3 songs, max. 15 minutes). The Institut Jazz of the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, with its unique Master's programme in Producing/Performance in Switzerland, has excellent prerequisites (acoustics, equipment, technical know-how) for excellent recording.
The competition is aimed towards young bands (up to quintets) from jazz and related fields with advanced musical skills and the willingness/possibility to convince with a short live concert at the finale on the Krompholz stage Viehmarktplatz.
The competition is open to bands with musicians (up to the age of 26) connected to the Langnau Jazz Nights and the Jazzcampus, both of which the jury is composed.
